Dark Fiber in the Secondary Network

Our network at your disposal

The service envisages the Operator’s purchase of the IRU (Indefeasible Right of Use) of the fibre optic links in secondary access network owned by FiberCop.

Service characteristics

  • Supply of a dark fibre with a high level of customisation of the infrastructure

  • Possibility of connecting the Termination Point in the Building (PTE) to the corresponding PTO (Operator Termination Point) of connecting the Fibre

  • Possibility of connecting the Termination Point in the Building (PTE) to the FiberCop road presence point (CNO/CRO) where the Operator is present with its network

Who it is intended for

We offer the Telecommunications Operators high capacity network infrastructures to allow them to construct commercial services and offers to propose to their final consumers.

DESCRIPTION OF THE ARCHITECTURE

The access service to the Fibre Optic cables in secondary access network consists of supplying a single connection made up of one or more optic fibres, leased in the points represented below:

  • from the Termination Point in the Building (PTE) to the corresponding PTO (Operator Termination Point) of connecting the fibre;
  • from the Termination Point in the Building (PTE) to the FiberCop road presence point (CNO/CRO) where the Operator is present with its network.

The service is dependent on the availability of fibre optic cables in the Operator’s areas of interest.

In the event of available space, the first PTO will generally be positioned directly inside the manhole in the road, in the vicinity of the Optic Node Centre (CNO) or of the Fibre Optic Cross Connect Cabinet (CRO) of the FiberCop FTTH network.
In the absence of space available in the network infrastructures already prepared (CNO/CRO), the Operator’s Termination Point (PTO) must be created for the purpose, according to the instructions that FiberCop will provide in the specific cases.

The Operator may request the following additional services:

  • Interconnection by Fibercop of the fibre optic in primary network with the fibre optic in secondary network, inside the PTO;
  • Interconnection of the optic fibres coming from the secondary network and from the termination segment, ordered by the Operator, through the optical patch cord at the PTE;
  • the inspection by FiberCop of the complete connection of primary fibre optic and secondary fibre optic or secondary fibre optic and fibre optic termination segment.

The dark fibre connection services, illustrated above, are characterised by a high level of customisation of the infrastructure.
For this reason you must provide any request to access the service with all the information necessary to be able to assess the effective feasibility (Feasibility Study), according to the method indicated by the FiberCop commercial structure responsible for examining it and for communicating the outcome to the Operator.
